"Brandon, come on!" Billy called out from the corner across the street.
I smiled at him and waved, walking to the sidewalk. I crossed over and made my way to the patiently waiting blackette at the corner. He hugged him when I was in his reach.
"Please forgive me," he whispered before pulling away from the hug.
"For what?" I asked, confused.
"Brandon!" an annoyingly high-pitched voiced called out.
"Melanie,' he mouthed before turning to the girl.
I groaned and looked down at the ground. This girl is fucking obsessed with me! I swear it's starting to scare the shit out of me!
I turned to walk away but the slut ran forward and pounced on me, knocking me to the ground. I cried out in shock and pain as my knees collided with the sidewalk. The girl on top of me simply started giggling like a maniac. I looked up at Billy who was looking at the girl as if she were a psychopath which she is.
"Get off me," I growled, trying to push myself up. She stopped giggling.
"Why?" she pouted.
"Because you just made me smash my fucking knees on the fucking sidewalk and they're probably bleeding. Leave me the fuck alone, will you?" I responded, shoving myself off the ground. "Fucking bitch."
"What did you just call me?" she gasped. I rolled my eyes and pried her arms away from me.
"I called you a fucking bitch," I repeated, pushing her away from me.
"I am not!" she exclaimed angrily.
"Really?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
"Really," she stated matter-of-factly.
"Alright, if you say so. Just fuck off and leave us alone please," I said firmly, looking over at Billy. "Let's go."
The boy nodded and ran forward, following me to my house. I limped across the street, ignoring the screams of the angry girl I had just left behind. Billy hooked his arm around my waist, bringing mine over his shoulder. It helped me take pressure off my right knee, the one that got the worst of the collision. I looked at him gratefully and leaned on him as we went up the stairs in front of my house.
"Thanks," I smiled at him.
"No problem, " he answered, looking over his shoulder.
"Come on," I said, letting him in the house.
He helped me to the couch before going to the bathroom. He came back with a cloth and bandages. I pulled up the legs of my jeans. I chose a good day to wear loose pants.
Billy sat down in front of me and cleaned up the cuts on my knees which had been deep enough to bleed. He looked up at me when a hiss slipped passed my lips, his eyes full of concern.
"Sorry," he apologized, pulling his hand away from my knee.
"No it's okay," I assured, biting my lip to keep myself from hissing again.
"I'm sorry about her," he said, picking up where he'd left off, bandaging my wounds.
"It's okay. It wasn't your fault," I assured. He laughed.
"Yeah it is," he argued. "I'm too much of a pussy to tell her to fuck off. She ended up following me here. Sorry Brandon, I seriously didn't think she'd jump you like that."
I laughed a bit and shook my head at the boy, reaching down to rest my hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me and I smiled at him reassuringly. He looked me in the eyes for a moment, probably looking for some sign that'd tell him I was lying or I'd hold a grudge. When he found none he smiled up at me and nodded.
We remained quiet as he fixed up my knees. He finished bandaging them soon after and got up from the floor, brushing fur off his pants. He held his hands out to me and I took them greatfully, allowing the boy to pull me to my feet.
"Thank you," I said, smiling.
"You're very welcome," was his response. "You wanna go sit outside?"
I looked out the front window and shrugged. It's was better then being cooped up in this place. We walked out to the front and sat down on my front porch. I attempted to bring my knees up to my chest but immediatly gave up as the pain from my knees returned. Billy laughed.
"You already forgot about you knees?" he laughed. I glared at him.
"Shut up! It's a habit," I mumbled in my defence, looking at the ground.
"Sure," he said sarcastically. "If you say so."
I reached over and slapped him across the back of the head. He cursed and glared. He was about ready to pounce on me when he froze, his eyes fixed on something behind me. I looked over my shoulder for something out of the ordinary. Nothing seemed out of place. I looked back at him with a confused look.
"Are you okay?' I inquired. He blinked a few times and looked at me.
"W-What?" he asked, dazed.
"What're you staring at?"
"Oh! Your neighbors sold their house," he replied. My eyes widened.
"What?! Are you serious?!" I exclaimed, looking over my shoulder at the sign.
Sure enough, the sign had the word 'sold' in bold letters over it. I smiled and jumped up. "YEAH! OW! Shit my knees!"
Billy started laughing his ass off while I carefully sat back down, whimpering everytime I made a bad move that made my knees hurt. I glared at him but he simply laughed and laughed.
"Hey fuck you! I'm in pain here! Stop laughing!" I pouted, hitting him.
"I c-can't!" he stuttered, gasping for air.
"Go to hell!" I told him. "You are seriously the worst best friend ever."
"Thanks, I appreciate that," he replied as he sat up and hit me. "I'm allowed laughing. Now we're even."
"For what?" I asked, confused.
"When you 'accidently' shoved me off the wall which led to my own knees getting screwed up," he reminded.
"But I didn't even lauygh th-" I started.
"Yeah you did! You laughed like a fucking idiot then helped me out!" he argued.
"Didn't!"
"Did!"
"Can you two shut the fuck up!" someone shouted from the neighbours house.
I looked around, shocked. Who the hell was that?
My question was answered when I spotted a girl standing on the driveway, glaring daggers at us. I looked back at her, surprised. Shit, don't tell me this is my new neighbour?
"Umm..." I said frowning. She sighed.
"Finally, you guys argue about the stupidest shit, it's not even funny," she growled before making her way to the front door of the house next door.
"Hey wait! who are you?" I called after her. She stopped and turned back.
"Faith," she answered.
"Are you my new neighbour?" I asked.
"Sadly, yes," she replied in annoyance. " I have to go. If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you guys would shut up or at least keep your damn voices down. My mom is trying to rest inside."
With that request, she walked into the house and shut the door behind her. I sat there, staring at where she had been standing. I looked over at Billy who was doing the exact same thing. After a few minutes, he spoke up quietly.
"Bitchy much?" he complained.
"Seriously," I murmurred, my eyes still fixed on her front door.
"She was pretty though," Billy mused. I laughed suddenly and looked at him.
"What the hell? I thought you were gay?" I asked.
"I am, that doesn't mean I can't recognize a pretty girl when I see one," he snapped. I chuckled.
"Okay, okay. Chill dude, chill," I responded, raising my hands up in defence.
He rolled his eyes and leaned back against the wall. I did the same and stared down at my newly torn jeans. It actually doesn't look that bad.
"Your jeans look good like that," Billy whispered making me laugh. He looked at me, confused. "What? What'd I do?"
"Nothing, nothing. It's just I was thinking the same thing," I replied.
"Oh."
We fell silent for a while, just staring at anything. I heard him shift and looked over to find him moving closer to me. He leaned closer and wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
"You nervous about school tomorrow?" he asked. I sighed.
"I dunno, man. It's just... kind of weird," I answered. HIs grip on my shoulders tightened.
"Hey, she would've wanted you to be happy. That means you've gotta brighten up and stay strong."
"I know," I said, sighing. "It's just so weird. I dunno what I'm gonna do without her."
Tears fell from my eyes and Billy reached up, wiping them away. He hugged me, both his arms wrapping around me comfortingly.
"I know Brandon, I know
